Where Y is the costtocomplete, and
x_{1}, x_{2}, x_{3}, .....x_{n}
are parameters that are assumed to have a cost impact of some sort, and
their value is known at the time of the estimate.
The function f is not known.
History of somewhat similar k cases does exist, and for which one
knows:
Y_{i } = f( x_{1i}, x_{2i}, x_{3i},
.....x_{ni})
Where i=1,2,...k.
Y_{i } is the cost to complete project i, when the value of
parameters x_{j } was x_{ji }.
